STAY-CATION

Hotel Hartness, Greenville, South Carolina

I’ve always loved living in South Carolina for multiple reasons but I would venture to say that #1 on that list is because we have everything here (well, no desert - but who needs that?). Want the beach? SC has it! Want the mountains? That too! The best part of this topographical fact is that they are relatively easy to get to. From most places in South Carolina, you can get to the beach or the mountains within three to four hours. How awesome is that?

While the beach and mountains are close for some people (i.e. Charleston peeps - 20 minute drive and you’re sitting on Folly with a cold drink in hand), sometimes that 4 hour drive just takes up too much time. We all are running around with crazy schedules. With kids or without there never seems to be enough time in the day to get all the “musts” checked off your list. That being said, how can we ever figure out how to sneak away for a night or two?

It’s called a stay-cation and I have the perfect place for those of you living in the upstate of South Carolina - Hotel Hartness. Located off of Highway 14, the hotel is part of a larger development where you will see beautiful homes and a few unique shops. The main part of the boutique hotel was once the home of the Hartness family. The designers did an immaculate job of working within the homes original style and adding on the wing for the hotel rooms. If you didn’t know the history, you would never have guessed that the hotel was not built all at the same time.

The rooms are gorgeous. We stayed in the Preserve Suite with a balcony and I immediately wished we had been able to book two nights instead of one. The balcony it self makes you want to just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. While my husband and I opted for driving into Greenville for dinner, there is no reason to leave the property once you are there! The hotel has two dining options for dinner - The Captain and Patterson Restaurant & Bar. Patterson requires reservations while the Captain does not. To top off the culinary experience, a breakfast buffet is included in your room rate and is super tasty!

Just want to spend the day there? Check out Spa H! We definitely plan to go back and experience all that Hotel Hartness has to offer.

For those of you with a little bit more time to sneak away, keep an eye out for my Charleston post coming soon!
